Our aim is to enable all students to reach their fullest potential in the Performing Arts. We are constantly revising our curriculum to ensure that our students achieve outcomes which reflect their ability and challenge them further.
Drama at Mildenhall College Academy is a lively and popular subject, both within the curriculum and as an extra-curricular activity. It builds successful relationships, raises confidence levels and improves skills needed in all subject areas. There is a custom built Drama Studio which is used for most Drama lessons and performances, and the Octagon, which is also used as a versatile performance space.
Curriculum Drama:
GCSE Drama
This course gives students the opportunity to explore plays, themes and issues in a highly creative way. Emphasis is placed on team work and learning through experience. Students are assessed in practical activities and they also complete written course work. There is also a final performance exam at the end of Year 11.

Level 3 National Diploma and Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting)
This is a two year full time course. This course is for people who are passionate about acting and performance. The course is mainly practical where you learn through daily classes, professional workshops and performances. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will also be required to attend theory based classes which develop your knowledge and understanding of the acting industry.
The course aims to provide suitable training and educations for progression to get you to University, Drama school or into employment.
The BTEC National Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification which is the equivalent to two A Levels.
