By the end of Sixth Form students will be ready to progress onto a degree-level course, apprenticeship or employment. They will also be well-equipped to be successful, responsible and confident citizens and with the ability to be leaders in their communities.

At MCA6 we offer a range of A Level and Applied courses with over 30 different subjects to choose from. These include traditional subjects building directly on the work of key stage 4, BTEC courses and Applied General courses. New subjects include psychology, sociology, criminology, media and government and politics. Students will typically study towards 3-4 qualifications depending on their route. Uniquely students who choose to study at MCA6 can choose to study A Levels, Applied courses or a combination of A Level and Applied courses. All students have the opportunity to complete the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) developing their knowledge in a particular area of interest whilst developing the vital skills required for independent study, presenting and research.

Students may also retake GCSE English and maths, this is particularly important if they have not achieved a grade 4 in key stage 4.

Alongside their academic studies students will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of enrichment activities and programmes including; a full PSHE provision, trips & visits (subject-related as well as more general), university visits, employer talks and work experience, as part of a comprehensive careers programme, and an active social calendar to promote their personal development.

Every student will have a personal tutor who will meet with them regularly and support their academic and personal development throughout their time in sixth form.
